January
New Years Day
Like everywhere in the world the first day of the year is celebrated with lots of parties, music and fireworks, specially in Santiago, the parties are seen everywhere.
February
Festival Costumbrista Chilote
The town of Castro have a special time in February. For one week in early February, on the island of Chiloe it´s possible to watch an event of cultural history and folklore. There is also typical food from the region.
Festival of Song
By the end of the month, on the town of Vina del Mar, there is a gala event with many Latin American musicans. It´s a five day festival.
Semana Valdiviana
Boats decorated and candles with the fireworks in the sky, it happens on the town of Valdiviana during the maritime festival over the week. It´s a maritime festival with exhibitions, contests and activities.

Semana Santa (Easter week)
Every town in the country, for being a Catholic country, celebrates the easter week with religiois ceremonies, parades and events, starting with the Good Friday.
Fiesta del Cuasimodo
In the central Chile, on the first sunday after Easter, Huaso cowboys parades, followed by catholic priests make an religious event very unique on the small towns of the Central Chile.

Navy Day
Memorial Holiday after few weeks from the Labour day – Navy Chile’s ceremonies, there is a speech from the President to the congress.
June
Fiesta de San Pedro
This is an event dedicated for the fishermen along all the Chile coast, with hope and wishes of fortune, weather and good catches during the year. You can see lots of boats iluminated and decorated with light candles, it´s a wonderful event. The city of Valparaiso is conidered the best town for watch the event.
Pedro Pablo
National Holiday – Celebrating two important saints in the Catholic pantheon: Saint Peter and Saint Paul. All the churches around the country have ceremonies in their honour, it’s also a feast day.

Virgen del Carmen
July celebtraion of the Patron Saint from the Armed Forces – Events like military parades in all the country of Chile. The biggest events happens on the town of Maipu.

Assumption of Mary
One of the biggest Religious events in the Catholic Chilean Calendar – Celebration of the scension the Virgin Mary. Lots of religious ceremonies.
